Kwekwe Polytechnic honoured with 3 premier awards by the President

11th of December 2025- The Head of State, His Excellency Hon. E.D Munangagwa presided over the 3rd edition of the Annual Presidential Innovation Fair. This is a top level national event coordinated by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development in which the best innovative individuals and institutions are recognised, acknowledged and honoured. All in all, there were 22 different categories. Its never an easy task to scoop 3 top awards of the available 22 at national level. According to the Principal of Kwekwe Polytechnic, Mr Evans Musara, all this is as a result of collective hard work by everyone right accross the board, from the bottom up to the top as he saluted his students and staff. Standing by the side of the President, the Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and later on recieve his royal handshake is almost everyone's dream. First to be called on to the podium was Godwin Rusike, a B-Tech student whose  innovation of a portable hybrid 4- in one silage making machine dubbed "Gayazvose" was crowned as the best innovative Tertiary Education Student thereby recieving a certificate, a shield and prize money to the tune of USD$2000.

As if that was not enough, a few moments later, another Kwekwe Polytechnic B-Tech student, Admire Machipamba was to be called to the podium. His innovation of a multi disciplinary sports wheel chair dubbed "Tyairo" emerged at the top in the health innovations category and he was honoured with a certificate, a shield and USD$5000.


When we all thought we were good to go, the Principal of Kwekwe Polytechnic, Mr Evans Musara was then summoned to the podium to recieved another pinacle award as his institution was ranked at the top of all tertiary education institution as Kwekwe Polytechnic was judged the best innovative college for the year 2025. Mr Musara walked down the stage with a certificate, a Presidential shield and a prize money of USD$10 000.

It was really a pleasure to be honoured this was by the Minister, Hon. Dr Shava and His Execellency. 50 of our students under the care of Mr Chimene and Mrs Manyadza amongst other personel were there to ululate within the huge HICC auditorium.
